At the conclusion to this sequence, halcompile is syntax-compatible with python3 (tested by ‘python bin/halcompile –help’), but on debian stretch systems without a python3 version of yapps, it fails with an ImportError at ‘from yapps import runtime’, as there is no package version of yapps for python3.
