[LinuxCNC/linuxcnc Issue#486] Error Screen does not display after error

If you have an ini variable in the hal file that is not found it does not toss up the usual error screen, just seems like nothing happens. The only way to see this error is to run from a terminal. In 2.7 you get the normal error screen for this error.

In the terminal you get this.
./fred.hal:62: Ini variable ‘[JOINT0]MAXERROR’ not found.
