[LinuxCNC/linuxcnc Issue#304] tool preview and grid missing in invertex x view

Here are the steps I follow to reproduce the issue:

1. start configs/gmoccapy/gmoccapy_lathe.ini
2. power on and home. load a tool.
3. click on the inverted Y view botton below the 3d preview

This is what I expected to happen:

The tool and grid is still visible.

This is what happened instead:

The tool and grid is not visible.

It worked properly before this:

Im not shure this ever worked.

Information about my hardware and software:

A binary I built myself. v2.8.0-pre1-3252-ge1f82cd

where exactly is the grid and tool preview generated?
