I have noticed a turn on pulse on the spindle pin recently. I don’t believe this has always been present. I think it is an ESP32 problem. I opened an issue at espressif/arduino-esp32

Have you turned laser mode on in the firmware $32=1?

I don’t think this a firmware issue. I think it is due to a problem with the output enable pin on my voltage level shifter during startup. I be able to test it more soon.
