SDCard works fine for me on the 6x CNC Controller.
I read that using the STA mode for Wifi could cause trouble in some places, did you try to connect to an AP? Did you inspect the board optically? Is all soldering looking fine – sure all should be good with a new board out of production, but it could be worth a look.

FluidNC does not support ESP32-CAM because it uses WROVER instead of WROOM modules. http://wiki.fluidnc.com/en/hardware/esp32pinreference#esp32-pin-reference

We use the standard SD code from the Espressif libraries. The 6x has been extensively tested with SD cards.
The problem is typically with the SD card.
– What brand is the SD card?
– Can you try some other cards?
– Have you tried everything mentioned on the SD card wiki page?
